Kids Count 2019
What’s YOUR song?
“What if I told you you’re perfect, perfectly imperfect?”
—lyrics from “Perfectly Imperfect” by Janell Edwards, Rajah Goldstein, T’Nia Napper & AFM, from the Hill-Freedman World Academy/LiveConnections album WHAT’S GOING ON
It takes stepping out of your comfort zone. It takes having someone who believes in you.
LiveConnections believes in kids and what music means in their lives.
We’ve reached more than 41,000 participants with free music education. Whether young people are engaging with music that expands their cultural awareness, making their own drums, or recording their original songs and poems, we want them to know that their creativity counts.
Their song matters.
LiveConnections’ annual Kids Count Campaign runs from May 6-15, 2019.
We want to raise $55,000 in 10 days to amplify new voices in our city.
We want to hear more from Rajah and T’Nia and other students from Philly public schools who are bravely stepping up to the mic and putting their “perfectly imperfect” voices into the world. We want thousands more kids to go on music-making journeys during free Bridge Session performances at World Cafe Live. We want more youth to believe in their own songs.
You can help a kid find their song.
Will you join us?
