Love songs and brunch: what could be more romantic? LiveConnections proudly presents a noontime ClassicAlive! performance by Astral artists Dísella Làrusdóttir, soprano, and Jonathan Beyer, baritone, with Jonathan Ware, piano. The acclaimed artists will perform a selection of love-song duets ranging from opera and art song to musical theater and pop. Concert-goers also have the option of enjoying a special a la carte brunch menu while savoring the Valentine’s Day-themed music.

WHO:
Astral Artists’ musicians represent the very best and brightest of today’s classical artists. Soprano Dísella Làrusdóttir began her career as a pop star in her native Iceland and now performs at the Metropolitan Opera, most recently in Satyagraha, Götterdämmerung and Das Rheingold. Baritone Jonathan Beyer also performs with the country’s top opera companies, including the 2011 productions of Carmen at the Opera Company of Philadelphia and Faust at the Metropolitan Opera. They are joined by pianist Jonathan Ware, who was awarded the prestigious Pianist's Prize at the 2011 Wigmore Hall Song Competition and performs regularly as a chamber musician and recital accompanist.

The Valentine’s Brunch is presented by LiveConnections in partnership with Astral Artists: two Philadelphia nonprofits committed to expanding musical opportunities.
